Mexico's beer exports hit record $5.2 Bn in 2023

Mexico is the biggest market for branded beers. Mexico was the leading exporter of beers across the global market. According to Mexico import export data, in 2023, around $5.2 billion worth of beers were exported by Mexico. Over 6789 shipments of beer were made across Mexico. The highest export value for Mexican beer was recorded in June 2023 with over $623 million worth. 

The United States was the top market for Mexican beer. Around 88% of Mexico's overall beer exports went to the United States. Mexico export data shows over $5.1 billion worth of beer exports were recorded in 2023. There were a notable amount of Mexico's beer export shipments to the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Colombia and Peru. Cervecera De Coahulia, Amazing Wines, and Bacardi were the top beer exporting brands from Mexico. 


Heineken USA, Ambev Luxembourg and KHS GMBH were the top beer importing  companies from Mexico responsible for the majority of shipments last year.  Heineken USA, Ambev Luxembourg and KHS GMBH were the top beer importing  companies from Mexico responsible for the majority of shipments last year. 


On the other hand, around 5,027 beer import shipments were made during fiscal year 2023. According to Mexico import data, over $204 million worth of beer was imported in 2023. The highest value for Mexico's beer imports were recorded in December 2023. Mexico's beer imports were recorded to be $6.3 million during December.


In terms of overall beverages exports, Mexico has exported around $12.52 billion worth of beverages during fiscal year 2023. The top market for Mexico's beverages exports was the United States ($10 Billion). Guatemala, Colombia, Spain and Dominican Republic.  Casa Cuervo, Agroindustria Guadalajara and Diageo Mexico were the top beverage export companies from Mexico responsible for the maximum number of shipments last year. 


The United States was the top beer supplier to Mexico with worth around $8.5 million during FY 2023. Germany, Belgium, England and Ireland were other prominent beer suppliers to Mexico with a notable amount of shipments.  Inbev Belgium, Anheuser Busch from the United States, Coors Brewing from Austria and Krombacher International from Italy were the leading beer supplying companies to Mexico.  


In terms of overall beverages imports, Mexico’s total beverages imports stood at around $1.9 billion in 2023. The top markets for beverages imports by Mexico were the United States, England, France, Italy and Chile. Casa Cuervo, Moet Hennessy and Destiladore Gonzalez were the top beverage import companies from Mexico. During September 2023, the highest amount of beer import shipments worth $210 million were recorded. Experts see a positive forecast for Mexico’s beer exports for 2024. Mexico’s biggest competitors in terms of beer exports are Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the United States. 


Mexican brewers can expand their business with verified sales prospects offered by the global import export data providers. Through their database, companies could explore top trending brewing companies, product price, genuine buyers, competitors shipment analysis, and discover the profiles of interested beer importers. Companies could keep an eye on their purchasing behaviour of beer importers and based on that can plan appropriate pricing, & create a highly converting sales pipeline. It could enhance business productivity, and help businesses make effective marketing strategies.
